Paris Print Giveaway

I'm going to France for two weeks on Saturday so you have one last afternoon to get a bargain in my summer sale and then I will shut up shop for a bit.  http://www.etsy.com/shop/MatPringle

I'll be taking a stack of test prints with me to distribute in Paris so if you happen to live there keep an eye out.  Expect to see a few sneaky Serge's hanging about!

'The Old Man and the Sea' linocut work in progress

It's been a while since I did any linocut printing but I've always been drawn to it so I thought I'd have another pop at it.  I decided to rework the cover of Hemingway's 'The Old Man and the Sea' for a two colour print. Unfortunately my actual attempts at printing weren't quite as successful as the linocutting sessions and I need to get a few bits of equipment before I try again but for now you can see my initial sketch and the two pieces of finished lino.

Given the problems involved in registering linocut prints I may make the final print part linocut print/part screen-print.

'Stanley Kubrick' illustration

This is a work-in-progress portrait I've been working on.  I'm not overly happy with his ear or the fact I've seemingly turned our Stanley into a hipster.  It's a bit cleaner than some of my other portraits as I want to turn it into a linocut print in the next week or so.  My initial plan was to include the quote below as part of the linocut but having spent about three hours cutting out three words of text on another project I'm not sure I have the required time or inclination.

"The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent; but if we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death — however mutable man may be able to make them — our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light."

'The Hairy Thing' part two

Here's the second part of my children's book 'The Hairy Thing' following on from this blog post.

It's a work-in-progress and I've subsequently tweaked the words a bit but just trying to get a bit of feedback to see if it's worth self-publishing.
